St. Brigid’s Primary School is working towards our first Active Schools Flag (ASF). The Active School Flag (ASF) is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. The process aims to get more schools, more active, more often. |
You can see all the P.E we do on our school twitter @brigid_ns
All classes in our school are taught the six strands of the P.E curriculum each year. The six strands include: Aquatics, Athletics, Games, Dance, Gymnastics and Outdoor & Adventure. Physical education is allocated 1 hour per week of overall teaching time. Discretionary time is also used towards P.E. |
P.E activities are planned so that they are accessible to all pupils in St. Brigid’s Primary School.
Aquatics are also taught throughout the year to the senior classes in partnership with Edenderry swimming pool.
Active Homework - We strive to prescribe some active homework on days that the pupils have P.E classes.
Land PAWS - Here in St. Brigid’s we teach the land PAWS to each class in May. It is a water safety programme.
Once the pupils have completed the lessons they receive a PAWS certificate. Here are some games to play once you have done the lessons in your class. |
